Thomas Giles, Professional Photographer

I've loved photography since I got my first camera when I was 3 years old. We had a darkroom in our basement where we printed and developed my black and white prints. My journey in photography, really started while working on my  art degree at UW-EC.  I started making money photographing other students' art for juried shows and graduate school applications. 

After two Bachelor Degrees from UW-EC, I attended graduate school at UW Madison to study sculpture.  Within the first year my focus soon shifted to photography, capturing images of 70-80 rock concerts a year for three years, for local music publications in Madison. This experience led to fans purchasing my concert photography, hiring me for business portraits, Senior Portraits and more.

After a career choice of Professional Photography in 1981, I earned the Master of Photography, Photographic Craftsman degrees and qualified to become a Certified Professional Photographer. He is a past president of the WI Professional Photographers Association and a member of the WPPA Hall of Fame, has received the Meritorious Service Award, National Award and more.
